On October 29, 1929, Black Tuesday hit Wall Street as investors traded some 16 million shares on the NYSE  in a single day. The Wall Street crash of 1929, also called the Great Crash, was a sudden and steep decline in stock  prices in the United States in late October of that year. Over the course of four business days—Black Thursday (October 24) through Black Tuesday (October 29)—the Dow Jones Industrial Average  dropped from 305.85 points to 230.07 points, representing a decrease in stock prices of 25 percent. 1928 Penicillin Discovery

Event that changed the world 1928 - Alexander Fleming discovers penicillin. Fleming (d.1955) was a professor of bacteriology at St Mary's Hospital, London. Fleming was awarded the 1945 Nobel Prize in Medicine, along with Howard Florey and Ernst Chain, who helped in the development of penicillin. Fleming was knighted in 1944, and in 1999 he featured in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most important people of the century. Petikan medium dot com ( link ): In New York City, on October 6th, 1927, Warner Brothers and the Vitaphone Corporation premiered their "Supreme Triumph",  The Jazz Singer . The film is remembered as the first talking picture and the first movie musical. Neither of those claims are true. Event that changed the world 1927 - Charles Lindbergh flies the Atlantic solo. Petikan pioneers of flight ( link ): On May 21, 1927, Charles A. Lindbergh completed the first solo, nonstop transatlantic flight in history, flying his  Spirit of St. Louis  from Long Island, New York, to Paris, France. In 1919 New York hotel owner Raymond Orteig offered a $25,000 prize for the completion of the first nonstop flight between New York and Paris. 1917 - Tank Battles

Event that changed the world 1917 - The first Tank Battle. Perang yang dikenali juga sebagai The Battle of Cambrai. Petikan ww1 ( link ): The Battle of Cambrai, launched in November 1917, heralded the first time tanks were used in significant force, a little over a year after they had made their tentative  debut at Flers  on the  Somme  in September 1916.  By the autumn of 1917 the popular reputation of tank effectiveness had suffered.  Aside from their undoubted initial value as a suprise tactic  they were deemed to be of limited use in offensive operations, unwieldy and prone to malfunction. Petikan war museum ( link ): The Battle of the Somme (1 July - 18 November 1916) was a joint operation between British and French forces intended to achieve a decisive victory over the Germans on the Western Front. Event that changed the world 1915 - The sinking of Lusitania. What was the Lusitania? The Lusitania was a British passenger ship that was owned by the Cunard Line. Lusitania was first launched in 1906.  Built for the transatlantic passenger trade, it was luxurious and noted for its speed.
