Petikan wiki - link : The 1953 British Mount Everest expedition  was the ninth mountaineering expedition to attempt the  first ascent  of  Mount Everest , and the first confirmed to have succeeded when  Tenzing Norgay  and  Edmund Hillary  reached the summit on 29 May 1953. Led by  Colonel John Hunt , it was organized and financed by the  Joint Himalayan Committee . Event that changed the world 1947 - The first faster-than-sound flight. Petikan air and space - link : On October 14, 1947, the Bell X-1 Glamorous Glennis,  piloted by U.S. Air Force Captain Charles E. “Chuck” Yeager, became the first airplane to fly faster than the speed of sound (Mach 1).
