Orang Barat pertama yang pernah ke Mekah dan Madinah adalah Ludovico Bartema pada 1503. Ludovico menerus pengembaraan ke beberapa negara dan akhirnya pulang ke Rome dan meninggal dunia pada 1517. Bartema mengungkapkan bahwa perjalanannya ke Mekah ditemani oleh ”rasa lapar dan haus, cuaca dingin dan panas, peperangan, tawanan, dan ketakutan-ketakutan”. Akan tetapi, ia tetap melakuni perjalanan panjang itu karena didorong oleh “hasrat membara untuk mengetahui”. Khuza'ah dikaitkan dengan asbabun nuzul at-Taubah 14. Apakah sejarah Khuzaah? Jawapannya adalah mereka punya sejarah dengan penjagaan Ka'abah. Seperti mana yang kita tahu sejarah Ka'abah bermula dengan Hajar dan Ismail sebagai penjaganya. Kemudian mereka bersama menjaganya dengan Puak Jurhum. Bukan semua perniagaan McD berjaya. Ada juga negara di mana McD menutup kedai kerana gagal dalam perniagaannya. Negara tersebut ialah Iceland, Bolivia, Jamaica, Paraguay dan Trinidad – baca  time  dan  nytimes . McD menutup perniagaan mereka di Bolivia sejak tahun 2002 setelah tujuh tahun beroperasi. Bolivia dihuni oleh ramai penduduk pribumi iaitu sekitar 60%. McD mula melebarkan perniagaan ke negara luar Amerika pada tahun 1967. Canada merupakan negara pertama yang di tuju. Restoran McD pertama dibuka di Richmond, British Columbia (baca  wiki ).
