The Visconti Medici Biarwood pen recognizable faceted shape is a nod to the octagonal baptistery in the heart of Florence, the city in which Visconti was founded.


Florence Batistry

Up until 1935 the baptistery was the only place Florentines could be baptized and members of the Medici family as well as other prominent people received the holy sacrament there.

It has served as a central focal point of Florentine civic and religious life for centuries, including the baptism of prominent figures like Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) and members of the Medici family.
