Buyid diasaskan oleh Ali ibn Buya pada 934. Beliau berjaya menawan Fars dan menjadikan Shiraz sebagai kota pusat. Adik Ali ibn Buya bernama Hassan ibn Buya pula berjaya menawan Jibal pada penghujung 930 dan pada 943 telah menawan Ray dan menjadikannya kota pusat. Pada 945 adik bongsu mereka Ahmad ibn Buya berjaya menawan Iraq dan mengambil Baghdad sebagai kota pusat. Ahmad ibn Buya diberi gelaran hormat Muizz al-Dawla, Ali ibn Buya pula gelaran Imad ad-Dawla dan Hassan gelaran Rukn ad-Dawla. Dinasti Buyid meneruskan penguasaan mereka di tiga wilayah Fars, Ray dan Baghdad untuk beberapa tempoh. Well it is quite sometime since my last entry.. almost five months back. There are plenty of reasons of why it was.. Flipping through news here and there I found out that there is a new halal McD opened up at Southall branch in London. The halal branch was started business on May 1 ago. … What’s in a name? One may asks. Well to many of us it’s nothing much. But careful though if it contains one magic word … Mc. That was what happened to a restaurant in KL. It was reported that this local restaurant serving local dishes including chicken curry etc. But the problem started when McDonalds Corporation sue them for using McCurry as their business name. In September 2006, the fast food giant McDonalds has won a huge and noble victory against a tiny Malaysian curry house, after a five year legal battle. ... - - - - -

McD is not merely about fast food. There are books written on McD, a video on McD – (remember Super Size Me! - to be exact .. say no to McD), websites dedicated to McD (well done to  McChronicles  and  Mckroes  !) and many more. What is more interesting is that there were many academic thesis have been written on the topic of McD. Some are doing it for bachelor degree, and there are also graduate thesis and even at doctorate level. Well it is nice to know McD at some places start offering halal menus. McD in Melbourne has launch such service. Read the reports here -  Report 1  and  McD in UK  also giving a try of having the same.  In Melbourne, McDonald's consulted Muslim leaders before introducing halal products at its Brunswick East and St Albans stores. Yes, that topic again - McDonaldization.  But why? Well, if we search on Yahoo there were almost 60,000 entry talking about it (as at late Aug '06). Book on it was published, revised and uses as textbook in many university courses. An example of such is offered in a  sociology  subject at csuchico. What is McDonaldization? McDonaldization is the term invented by George Ritzer to describe a sociological phenomenon that is happening in our society. Definition:  the process by which the principles of the fast-food restaurant are coming to dominate more and more sectors of American society as well as of the rest of the world.
